Former England cricketer, Jonathan Trott, has today been awarded the fabled ‘Power of Grayskull’ at a ceremony on the distant alien world of Eternia.
Trott (34), who retired from international cricket in May this year, was bequeathed the special abilities by Castle Grayskull guardian, the Sorceress, at a low-key ceremony attended by wife Abi, daughter Lily (5), and Orko, a floating magical entity from the Trolla dimension.
South-African born Trott, who was instrumental in England retaining the Ashes in 2009, was presented with a sword at the ceremony which, when held aloft, will grant him superhuman strength and invulnerability.
“Being entrusted with the Power of Grayskull is a bit of a dream come true,” said the Warwickshire batsman. “With my newfound strength – and the technical know-how of Man-at-Arms – I’m confident I can keep the secrets of Castle Grayskull from falling into the wrong hands.”
It is expected that Trott will now split his time between his duties with Warwickshire cricket club, and defending the people of Eternia from the evil forces of Skeletor.
